The long Ottoman presence in these lands and afterwards the communistic regime left the Eastern Europe closed to the other part of the world. Nowadays we can find here the oldest remains preserved from the ages of Earlier Christianity. The "Orthodox monasteries and churches" tour offer you to visit twelve churches, four of them dated back to the 4 - 6 centuries and the other belonging to the Middle Ages. You will see sixteen monasteries, many museums and two monuments under protection of UNESCO.
